Hi Ron.

I am making videos using D800 and recording from HDMI out. Camera is mounted on moving vehicle. Do not ask why but that is a requirement. Problem is that I can not adjust exposure since I can not reach the camera. I tried to use tethering solution (ControlMyNikon) but it disables HDMI output. It is very pressing issue for me. Automatic exposure mode for video sucks on D800. Any chance you can tell me if it is possible and how?

Best regards

Hi. Really nice infos about the D800 - great job. Which external monitor do you recommend? For detailed focus pulling?

Thanks Niels Patrick ;-)

Hey Ron,
I'm preparing to leave for Kenya to finish a doc film and start a another. I was shooting with the Panasonic AG HVX200 last time and plan on bringing my D800 this time. The HVX200 had an auto focus option that worked beautifully. I was able to walk and carry the camera and simply let it run - it focused perfectly without my help. For the interviews and other critical shots I'll be using prime lenses and manual focus. Is there a good lens and a way to do what i did the first time around with the HVX (auto focus) - with the D800 in video mode? If the kids see you lift a camera to shoot they jump up and down and wave - it's cute but not natural.
